Mystical Garden Rules For Td's To Follow When Running A Tourney.

 Effective Immediately!!!
ALL EVEN hour tourneys are to be 6, 8 or 10 hands
Regular, Bid 3 or Nil, or Mirrors
Please place Regular spades at top choice.
ODD hours are 4 to 6 hands
any of the games in our league list.
Admins and HTDS please monitor this and change
the games to the correct game and hand count if necessary.

1.
START TIMES

 All tournaments must start no later than 10 mins past the hour.

Advise latecomers of the next tourney.

Start on time please but our drop dead time is 10 mins now.

2.
Registration

 Open your tourney to Registration the night before.

3.
SPAM

 At 30 mins out from your tourney

Announce your tourney and scroll rules at least a few times before you close and begin - This is critical.

Use cap letters during this process or a very clear and centered version in lower case letters
Please include the following info at a minimum:

TYPE TOURNEY: Reg spades no dn
set tables at protected/unrated
6/20/500
Read main tourney page for complete list of rules <---very important one...please use it.

If you spam your tourney in Yahoo's Instant Messenger, please limit your spam to only ONE mass spam per tourney. Then near closing IF you can not get players from the lobby you can IM individual people from your friends list. Any more mass spams then this only upset people and your TD tools could be removed for multiple mass spamming.

Caps

 Cap letters are reserved for your td business only

Even when in TD position ONLY use caps when talking direct tourney info

During chit chat time in the lobby even when the sitting TD...Please use lower case.

TOURNEY RULES

 All tourneys must have clear rules page.

Ask if you need help.

But we must provide members this page as well as announcing our tourney rules in lobby before our tourney.

6.
Timers

 When all players are seated.. Thank them for playing and supporting MG. Thank the subs if there are any. Check kibitz. Spam rules, then you put a table timer on table and game can begin.

Tourney Timers should be as followed

4 hand tourneys -- 4/15/500 -- 15 minutes
6 hand tourneys -- 6/20/500 -- 20 minutes
8 hand tourneys -- 8/30/500 -- 30 minutes

Please monitor table and give 5 minute warning before calling game.

Cancellations

 Cancellations are no longer taboo. Cases suggest if a tourney does not run, you can cancel rather than moving. Too many tourneys only slows down the servers.  

However, the choice is yours.

Multiple Tourneys

Members in two tourneys at same time - Basically prohibited. (Only exception is ONE hand Roulettes)

Only one option here now,
If they are in a 1 versus 1 tourney ask them if they want to remain there or concede and play in yours.
This options does not exist in 2 versus 2 tourneys,
If they are in a 2 versus 2 tourney and are in yours also with you about to start
Remove them before closing

If you miss them and don't remove them - DQ asap. Playing in two tourneys is prohibited.

9.
Monitoring Tourneys

Please actively monitor your tourney to include at a minimum:
announcing brief rules before each match on each table, be readily available to start timer on booted players, answer any member questions, etc.

TD will make all finals tables and monitor to completion.

10.
Overlapping tourneys

 Overlapping tourneys
No problem...Let them overlap...Key is starting on time or no later than 10 mins past in any case.

11.
Chain of Responsibility

 Please use Chain of Responsibility

If the TD has problems they bring it to a HTD.
If HTD has problems - they bring it to Admin. Mystical Admins are well trained to handle all problems that can occur.

Head Admin should be your last resort for assistance as she has trained
upper staff to handle all problems that can occur.


12.
Tourney Requirements

 Each TD is requested to make two tourneys weekly at a minimum.
(Roulettes are fillers and do not count towards you minimum requirements)

TDs inactive for 20 days will be removed.

13.
Staff Conflicts

 TD staff conflict in lobby is strictly prohibited.
Pursue such a concern in private or through the Chain of Responsibility.

TD’s need to remember that they represent this league. They should be setting an exemplary example of good sportsmanship and be exception members of the Garden.

14.
Subs

 All members have their choice of a SUB if their partner is booted or otherwise not available. Please wait 3 minutes before allowing a sub to set. Never allow a sub to set until you ask in private IM if that sub is acceptable. DO NOT set as a sub yourself if another league member is available. This is a violation of Cases Rules.

If none can be found then they accept what you can provide or they concede.

TD may also sub as a last resort.

15.
Cursing

 Cursing is allowed in this league, at the table but highly discouraged in the lobby.

Your only role as a TD is to determine if the cursing is malicious and or directly pointed at a fellow member. If so, you give 3 warnings to offender then DQ them.

If you have issue with general and innocent cursing...Please see an Admin or upper staff and we will carry your concern to the Head Admin

16.
Scheduling

 Scheduling your tourneys on calendar

Calendar is OPEN to all TDs for any time they want. However you are NOT allowed to move another TD's tourney without their permission. Doing so could result in you being removed as TD. Only exception to this is if we have a special tourney planned and a admin needs the spot you have taken to run it.

PLEASE check the calendar often and plug any holes you can. We want to keep the calendar FULL at least 2 days ahead. PLEASE HELP KEEP THIS DONE!

17.
TOURNEY HANDS

 TOURNEY HANDS

ALL EVEN hour tourneys are to be 8  or 10 hands
Regular, Bid 3 or Nil, or Mirrors
Please place Regular spades at top choice.

ODD hours are 4 to 6 hands
any of the games in our league list.

**UPDATE** - We are now allowing Odd hour tourneys to be 2vs2 also if you choose to do so but please make then 4 hands only.

18.
Scheduled Times

 No tourneys will be scheduled other than on the hour

Exceptions is for the late night tourneys from midnight to 7am

Anything goes during this time as long as you have members wanting to play. Roulettes are allowed at 15, 30 and 45 minutes past the hour.


19.
Boxing and DQ

 This league is a 3 warning league.

This 3 warning applies to all situations. .

After third warning DQ and notify admin for further action is you feel it is warranted.

RULES

Please put your tourney rules on your tourney rules page and spam them well before you begin your tourneys.
